The Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj is responsible for implementing Poverty Alleviation Programmes and other Socio-Economic developmental schemes for rural upliftment and for strengthening institutions of local self-government i.e. Panchayats. The objective of Rural Development is to provide responsive, accountable, Transparent and people friendly administration.
Hiring of District Resource Person for Social Audit Unit, 'Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act' - (MGNERGA) - Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Government of J&K.
Job Roles & Responsibility
- Responsible for identification and training of village/ Block social resource persons and facilitators to help in carrying out social audits in the respective block.
- Mobilizing Wage seekers on MGNREGA Programme and Social Audits.
- Providing awareness and information regarding MGNREGA to worker and Panchayat residents.
- Responsible for collecting all the information from the block office, and cross checking that the information is complete. Will report any delay or shortcoming in providing information immediately.
- Ensure that wall painting as mandated in the operational guidelines are complete and updated in the GPs that they operate in.
- Responsible for coordinating the team assigned and conduct a free and fair social audit process at the village/ block level.
- Responsible for ensuring that Social audit Report is written and all related photographs, videos, evidences and testimonies are collected from the stakeholder by due process during social audit within stipulated time.
- Responsible for the final submission of the social audit report and the verdicts of public hearings as per the format decided.
- Facilitate the follow up actions and submit the follow up report with the proper testimonies against the ‘Action Taken Reports’ submitted by the district administration.
- Upload the report and the photographs on the public domain in due time and process.
- Any other work assigned by Director, Social Audit.
Contractual Status - Initially for the period of one (1) year
Upper Age Limit: 45 Years
Mandatory Requisites:
- He/she should have domicile of UT -J&K and resident of respective district.
Mandatory Experience:
- Minimum 5yrs of work experience / graduate with at least 6 years of experience in Rural development, Social Audits, Social work and community mobilization.
- Candidate with prior working experience with reputed Civil society organizations/NGOs will be preferred.
- Candidate should have a certificate course/diploma minimum six months
- Candidate should have required team management and coordination skills and attitude.
- Candidate should be willing to stay in rural areas.
- Candidate having good understanding of local language will be preferred.
